The Founders

Started by sisters Morgan and Brooklynn behind Morgan Julia Designs - together they have over 7 years of combined experience in the needlepoint industry.

  • Morgan (right, above) started Morgan Julia Designs, a Needlepoint Canvas & Accessory company in May of 2019 out of Annapolis, Maryland. Our brand focused on creating modern and fun needlepoint canvases & kits that could be easily accessed by stitchers all over the world.

  • In October of 2019, she was able to quit her day job & take MJD full time. As the brand continued to grow, Brooklynn joined on part-time as she continued through college in Tampa, Florida.

Up & Down the Coast

  • In 2021, Morgan made the move down to Sunny St. Petersburg, Florida as the company continued evolved. Brooklynn graduated from college in 2022 and joined MJD full-time.

  • In the last 4 years, MJD has grown to include over 200+ SKUs, is in over 170 wholesale stores around the US, fulfilled over 12,000 orders, been featured on Bravo & Martha Stewart, and has sold over 7 figures. We contiue to grow year after year!

How did The Coastal Stitching Society Come About?

  • In late 2022, we began talking to stitchers & saw that there were so many who wanted to create their own needlepoint lines but didn't know where to start or didn't have time.

  • Because of this, we decided to start the coastal stitching society: a separate company outside of MJD which will house new and/or established artists who want to focus solely on designing, while leaving the rest to us.

  • We take pride in the quality of our work and our commitment to excellence as we know this is the key to building a lasting brand and a thriving community.
